Hot Holiday Homes 2013

Hot Holiday Homes 2013 saw 1,000 guests tour six privately-owned homes decorated exclusively to raise funds for The Nutcracker Making Memories event. Homes varied from a modern-country home, to a renovated lakefront home to a downtown 1910 Victorian Revival home.

Making Memories is an exclusive free performance of The Nutcracker by The Canadian School of Ballet and Ballet Kelowna for youth unable to attend this holiday tradition. By working with local organizations such as Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs, Cops for Kids, Canadian Mental Health Association, Families in Touch, The Bridge Youth & Family Services and more, every seat in Kelowna Community Theatre was filled with children and families.

“I love everything about Christmas and the holiday season so organizing a tour that showcases beautiful homes and kind, giving people is a natural fit. Using the funds to support The Nutcracker Making Memories performance is a beautiful gift to our community and I'm honoured to be part of that,” says event organizer Debbie MacMillan.

Thanks to the support of Hot Holiday Homes tour guests and donors, every child in attendance received a stocking brimming with small gifts and treats.  For some, it may have been the only Christmas gift they will receive.
